Job Title: SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)

We are seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to become an integral part of our team! As a DBA, you will implement, configure, and maintain critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, ensuring high availability and consistent performance. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Create Database Development Plan to guide the development and maintenance of SQL Server databases
Perform data modeling for multiple teams
Ensure operational readiness (security, health and performance)

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server 2012 and later.
Experience configuring and maintaining database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security, while minimizing false alarms.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
Experience in data modeling techniques to ensure consistency across teams and to meet integration and performance expectations.
Experience in performance tuning and optimization at the physical server level (e.g., table and index partitioning), the database level (e.g., database settings and options), and query tuning.
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
Experience with SQL Server Replication.
Experience with Failover clustering, SAN replication, and other High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) technologies.
Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts.
Experience working with SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Reporting Services.
Strong interpersonal communication and documentation skills.

Desired Qualifications:

6+ years experience performing SQL Server Database Administrator functions.
8+ years experience working in the IT industry.
8+ years experience writing SQL Statements.
4+ years experience with the Software Development Lifecycle and Best Practices.
4+ years experience in database design.

Experience with SQL Server 2016.
Experience integrating SQL Server with Active Directory.
Experience working with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).
Experience with 24-hour on-call operational database support.
Experience providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
Involvement with the MSSQL Server Community; membership in PASS, active in forums or newsgroups.
Certification is a plus; MCTS, MCITP, MVP.
